| 520 | 3 | |a Purpose of research. -- The purpose of this research was to gather information about the buildings and equipment of Texas junior college drafting technology programs. Data collected were used to prepare implications for a planning guide. Procedure of research. -- An inventory form was prepared to gather information about "existing" and "recommended" drafting facilities. The form was mailed to twenty-seven junior colleges throughout Texas. A personal visit was made to each college. While visiting the colleges, at least three points were specifically covered: (1) a general discussion about drafting facilities was held with as many drafting personnel as possible; (2) light meter readings were taken of the drafting rooms and instructors' offices; and (3) 35 mm colored slides and black and white pictures were taken. Conclusions of research. -- The conclusions of this research were presented as "Implications for a Planning Guide." The guide included ten sub-divisions: Architectural Characteristics and Furnishings, Instructors' Offices, Drafting Equipment, Illumination, Conveniences, Storage, Educational Enrichment, Reproduction Equipment, Visual-Aid Equipment, and Teaching Aids. The guide contains 112 pictures of drafting facilities found in the various junior colleges. | |
