History of the Donner Party : a tragedy of the Sierras /

The Donner Party was organized largely in Illinois and left Independence, Missouri. The part consisted of as many as two hundred persons during the course of the journey, there were ninety members, about half of whom survived a snowbound winter in the Rockies.
