John Earl of Dunmore, His Majesty's lieutenant and governor general of the colony and dominion of Virginia, and vice admiral of the same: a proclamation : Virginia, to wit, Whereas, upon petitions of sundry persons claiming and settled upon lands in the back parts of this colony, praying that the grants made to the officers and soldiers under His Majesty's proclamation in 1763 might not be located so as to interfere with their claims ... Given under my hand and the seal of the colony, at Williamsburg, this 8th day of May, 1775, and in the 15th year of His Majesty's reign.
