As the the noose is placed around the prisoner's neck, he envisions escape. Miraculously, the rope snaps and he falls into the water below. The prisoner manages to free himself and escape into the forest. He falls asleep only to awaken near his home and sees his beloved wife. As he and his wife are about to embrace, the dream ends and the prisoner is hanged.
