Item Description:Report of the Grand Committee of the Continental Congress, with the plan of Robert Morris, dated January 15, 1782, and Notes on the establishment of a money mint, and of a coinage for the United States, by Thomas Jefferson. In consequence of this report, the Continental Congress, on July 6, 1785, adopted the dollar as the unit of coinage, and the decimal ratio.
Caption title.
Recorded twice by Evans, once with supplied imprint [New York, 1785], and again with imprint [Philadelphia : Printed by Francis Childs and John Swaine, 1791]. The first entry seems likelier.
