Description
Summary:Esteban Peicovich broadcasts an interview during an afternoon in New York. He's interviewing Argentine artist Liliana Porter to discuss the relationship between painting and poetry. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and lived in Mexico for a few years during her adolescence and later moved to New York. Porter talks about the elements she integrates into her work. She also discusses the sense of self that life as an immigrant in America has created for her. She presents the culture she identifies with now. Porter also talks about what influences her interpretation of art, such as the influence her dad's career as a writer had on her. She talks of her early education and of a young love that unintentionally led her to pursue painting rather than literature. Porter has been awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship for her work and has been living in New York for the past 27 years.
