520 |a Dr. David J. Cain continues therapy with a client who needs stress relief, who worries a lot about death and injury. He has had this problem since he was a child, and has particular problems with the idea of being dependent on others in some way. The client has no issue with the idea of him taking care of one of his loved ones if that were to happen, but he imagines no one who would be willing to give that kind of help to him. He also tells Dr. Cain about his reccurring dreams, many of which deal with themes of loss, neglect, and death/injury. Dr. Cain lets the client come to his own conclusions of why those dreams are reoccurring for him and encourages him to decide how he thinks they apply to his life. Dr. Cain also encourages him to allow himself to feel his emotions fully and engage them when they surface, rather than waiting or pushing them down.
