Description
Summary:While the etiology and health implications of obesity have been covered in other books, this volume not only provides an update of this information, but also covers three important aspects that are essential to an understanding of current and future directions in the pharmacological treatment of obesity. The first of these is a review of the pharmacology of known antiobesity agents. Second, perspectives are provided from leading researchers on the most promising sources of new antiobesity drugs in the near term. Finally, recommendations are made on what needs to be done to develop future molecular targets for the next generation of antiobesity drugs.
