Item Description: | Sheets of the Philadelphia : D. McKay, 1888 edition, with a cancel title leaf. Includes essays, reviews and some poetical works, Whitman's November Boughs was first published in 1888. Most famously, the work contains a fervent essay about the Shakespeare authorship question, of which Whitman was a great believer. Writing about Shakespeare's histories in particular, the poet argues that someone other than Shakespeare of Stratford-upon-Avon penned the works.
