As the result of a global and interdisciplinary collaboration of leading experts, this Handbook offers a cutting-edge insight into the characteristics, challenges and trends of local governance and emphasizes the promotion of good governance and democratic development in China. Jianxing Yu is a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor and Dean of the School of Public Affairs at Zhejiang University, China. He is also Co Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Chinese Governance. Sujian Guo is Professor at the Department of Political Science, and Director of the Center for US-China Policy Studies at San Francisco State University. He is also a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Chinese Governance.
