Summary:""I started writing poetry as a teenager. This interest expanded into fiction soon after I turned twenty (butI still kept writing poems). As such, this book shows an interesting point in my development. The surrealism or experimentalism of these pieces comes from the fact that I still had a lot of poetic ideas involving atmosphere and imagery in my head when I wrote them. The challenge became fusing these inspirations with levels of plot and narrative to make them engaging for a reader. My love of genre fiction helped that goal. It gave rise to many of the horror, thriller, fantasy, or science fiction parts of this book. I aimed to arrange the pieces in a way that flowed logically through an abstract journey with recurring symbols and tropes. However, that journey may not be the same for you as it is for me. The beauty of abstraction (in appropriate doses) is its ability to make art become a mirror of discovery for the reader, in which a variety of people are able to project their unique experiences into the work. This can bring readers to an external reflection of their inner selves. It can indirectly lead to realizations they wouldn't have been able to previously approach head-on. I hope these stories offer some insight,as well as entertainment,as they explore a range of worlds, ideas, and characters."--Paul Edward Costa"--
