Summary:This case study discusses the comprehensive disaster revival plan of some of the largest tourism destinations in the Caribbean after major destruction from Hurricanes Mari and Irma. It explores the various recovery strategies that must be adopted by the islands of St. Martin and Puerto Rico to combat the tourism crisis and severe decline in tourism activities that occurred due to the aftermath of these major hurricanes. A holistic disaster framework has been provided including short- and long-term reestablishment strategies for the tourism industry in these islands. Furthermore, this case study provides recommendations for next steps of crises recovery for these islands.
