The river ; The plow that broke the Plains.

"The River" traces the history of the Mississippi River and its tributaries. It shows the consequences of sharecropping, soil exhaustion, unchecked erosion, and flooding, and concludes with scenes of regional planning, Tennessee Valley Authority development and correlated Federal efforts.
