This collection comprises manuscript accounts of cases involving slaves from the courts of Baldwin, Clinch, Hancock, Jasper, Lincoln and Putnam counties, Georgia. The 27 cases mostly involve crimes, such as murder, assault, rape and burglary, prosecuted by the state.
